Kearney Bike Trails

Today we woke up to ride the bikes from our site to wherever the paved paths took us! We woke up this morning to fish some at the campsite’s pond that was catch and release. First evening into it, Rhett was the first to catch a nice size bass! He was on cloud 9. Kaycen was up right at the sunrise, to get out there to catch what he could. After spending a slow morning at the pond, we gathered our bikes and snacks and off we went. Trails were everywhere. We ended up by passing so many parks, splash pads, water trails, and made a pit stop over at the Gottschalk Tower. We took the elevator to the top that allowed us to have 360 degree views all of Kearney! What a beautiful site that was. This area took us through a fun artistic park, called, The Gardens at the Yanney Park. We continued the trails until it eventually ended. It took us to the end of the trail that landed us in a swimming hole area that unfortunately wasn’t open quite yet. Boy did we wish it was open. We were 3 hours too early.

Round trip, we wrapped up a little less than 15 miles. About half way towards the end, it really started to warm up! Wrapped it up with loading everything back up and went back to this pizza/arcade place that we had passed earlier on our bikes to cool off and fill our bellies. We haven’t been to a pizza buffet in who knows how long, but this was pizza, salad and a chicken buffet!! Quite the offerings. Finished our day with some sunset paddle boarding on the pond outside our campsite! We are pretty impressed Kearney!!
